This San Francisco-based 11-piece Afrobeat orchestra has been filling theaters around the country with their rowdy blend of African rhythms, exotic melodies, slamming percussion and monstrous horns. Encompassing touches of Afrobeat, Highlife, dub, funk, Caribbean spice and East African trance, Global Rhythm describes Aphrodesia as “A potent, buoyant and irresistibly danceable pan-African mashup." The SF Bay Guardian called them "San Francisco's contenders in the Afrobeat arena" and East Bay Express dubbed them “The Bay Area’s answer to Antibalas."
