San Diego's Alfred Howard & the K23 Orchestra (AH&K23) is a five
piece band that blends hip-hop, funk, rock, Latin, spoken word and jazz
to create an infectiously danceable message of social change. Referred
to by many as "hip-hop's Jack Kerouac," Al Howard recently recited
his poetry for Bobby Kennedy and Senator Barbara Boxer. He also performed
at Jane's Addiction's New Year's Eve Celebration and has shared the stage
with Ozomatli, Sound Tribe Sector Nine, Digital Underground, Karl Denson
and many more.
